Upload datafiles individually

Reported by simont | January 28th, 2009 @ 09:07 PM | in high priority

I'm doing some testing and want to run different analyses on the same dataset, ie the .mgf file is the same but the parameters might be different (or in this case I want to use increasingly more nodes).

I can create a new job each time but then I have to upload the same data each time. It might be nice to have the option to use an existing mgf file that's already on S3, rather than having to upload it for each run.

This isnt a critical feature - Im not sure if others would use it in real life though it would make reanalysing the same dataset for different modifications more streamlined.

As Im trying this at home, uploading the data via my cable modem is taking longer than the processing the file!

    • Tag set to datafile, persist, results
    • Milestone set to high priority

This feature is important from the standpoint that it will parallel the creation of a results file model/controller that will allow the data and results files to persist between runs.
